My internship mentor is the founder of Electrochaea. This makes for a bunch of different people to shadow throughout the day and a bunch to learn about the company. For this internship I am traveling back and forth between the plant in Denmark and the office in Germany. Today was my first day at the lab in Germany. I find it to be a little less exciting than the plant only because it is more research, on the computer, about parts and chemicals to order where as at the plant I did more hands on work with the reactor. I find it super intriguing when I am able to work in the lab. There are a lot of high tech machines and many different studies going to find what will make for the most methane production. Everyone here is really willing to help me and explain what each machine does as well as what they are working on at that moment. They are all super nice and it is a fun place to work. It is a little more serious and quiet than the plant, but people still joke and enjoy their work. I am excited to see what different jobs I will be allowed to do and find out how I can help this company.
