I have two locations for my internship. One in Denmark and one in Germany. My first day was in Denmark and so far I have found this work environment really hands on. This is the location of the large reactor ( 1 megawatt) which has an infinite number of variables that can affect the out put of the reactor, so the workers always have to be on the look out in case something goes wrong. It is a laid back environment with people laughing a joking but when things need to be done everyone is quick to jump in and give input and help. It's an amazing and fun place to be. Everyone is extremely nice and they have welcomed me and helped me when I needed it. In such an important lab/field I expected people to be super serious but I have found that everyone including the boss joke and enjoy their work, it makes for a fun internship that I have enjoyed so far.

The company where I am interning is a large science company that is working to create energy for entire countries and I was really surprised when they allowed me to collect data for such a large scale and important company. I am really excited to see what they will have me doing in the lab and I hope that the people in the Germany lab are as nice as the ones here.

Side notes

  • A majority of the people here speaks multiple languages incredibly well

  • Archaea don't smell very good
