Before Collection:
Under Microscope
Size: Most seem to be same size, but a few are much larger.
Movement: Larger worms move faster and more than the others.
Color: Clear able to see inside structure.
Grouping: Some in huge clumps or off by themselves moving around.
Relative Location: Many in huge groups, but a few are off by themselves and move around to run into eachother.
Before Collection:
Research
Used for: Nematodes are used in genetics researched because they reproduce quickly showing gene changes. They are cheap and plenty full showing an overall change. Small and easy to manipulate.
Number of Cells: Each nematode has 959 cells.
Life Span: 2-3 weeks

Collection:
Description
Sample 1: Dark green-brown, slimmy mud. Some, but very few small twigs. Worm bits.
Sample 2: Many twigs grouped infused with dark and lighter brown. Twigs and leaves come from near by tree.

Sample 1: One large nematode. (see picture below)
Sample 2: Nothing.
