Look at Me Now Project

For this project we were given different questions about our lives as if it was a book.  Such as:

Theme

Conflict

Protagonist

Antagonist ...

Here were my answers:

Theme:

The message I deliver by the way I live my life is “Live for the now.”  I think that this is a good message to deliver to people because you only have right now.  You are not promised tomorrow or the next day so live for the now, live your life to the fullest.  I show this by pushing myself to do anything and everything I desire.  This motto also helps me calm myself down in times of stress allowing me to focus on what is happening around me at that time and not on what is stressing me out.

Conflict:

Woman vs. Time.  I want to be successful in everything I do, but I am worried I am running out of time.  If I want to reach my full potential in any sports I have to practice and work hard every chance I get.  Not only is there practice that I have to do with sports, but also school I have to work on and vacations to go on and it always seems like there’s not enough time in a day for everything I want to accomplish.

Characterization:

Dad- My dad has supported me in everything I have done and pushed me to become the best I can be at anything and everything I want to achieve.  He has helped me find what coaches are best for me.  He has taken me to every practice he can and has spend lots of his off time practicing with me.  I wouldn’t be who I am today without him.

Tennis coaches- Without my tennis coaches I wouldn't  be able to get where I am with tennis or be able to get any further.  Tennis is a huge part of my life and is something I enjoy and that is thanks to all the people who have been a part of of it throughout the years.

Best Friend- I know I can always count on her to make me happy or help with a problem.  She always has my back and has helped me through a lot of things in my life.

Protagonist:

Dad- My dad has supported and helped me through everything in my life.  He has pushed me in everything I do and helped me to get where I am in life.  He has made me who I am today.

Best Friend-  I am always happy when I hang out with her and know that she is always there for me.  Her personality is very similar to mine so its never hard to find something to do that we will both enjoy.  She has been my friend for almost two years.  I don’t know what I’d do without her.

Antagonist:

People who don’t work hard: People like this I can’t stand.  I see what they could be doing if they tried, but instead they don’t live up to their full potential.  I also get very frustrated and stressed when working in groups with them this then adds to the rest of the stress in my life.

Flashback:

One thing that has made a huge impact on my life is about a year ago my three year old golden retriever had a heart attack and died near our house.  I ended up being the one to find him after he didn’t come when I called.  This has made a huge impact on my life because I think about it a lot when playing with the dogs I have now. I especially think about it when my dogs don’t come after a few times of calling them, I worry the same has happened again.  This has never a good memory and always makes me sad, but it is something I still have to think about.

Irony:

About a year ago someone was giving away their baby Saint Bernard because they couldn’t handle it any more after a couple of days my family decided to take her.  We set up to go pick her up a few days later.  On the day that we were supposed to pick her up the family called to say they had decided to keep her, by that time we had bought toys and had gotten very excited about having her.  The rest of that day we were all sad about losing this dog we never had, but then a few days after that they called again to tell us we could have her if we wanted her.  So that night we went and got her and have had her ever since.

Symbolism:

Something that represents a part of me is my tennis bag.  Tennis is a huge part of my life and I spend most of my time playing.  It has been an enormous piece of my life for many years now and I hope it is for many years to come.  It is a way to get away from stress and just focus on playing.  Tennis can make me both excited and frustrated, but thats what I enjoy.  Frustration pushes me to get better.

Foreshadowing:

Some things that I would like to do later on in life would be tennis, this is something that I want to do as long as I can in life and take it as far as possible.  Golf is also something I would like to take as far as possible.  If I can’t get with either of these as far as I can I would also like to pursue something in the sciences.  These are all things I am good at and enjoy.

After this we created posters with many pictures and basically summarized our lives like a book.  Here is the finished product of my poster:
