CHASEE-SAT-ACT Reflection
CAHSEE
After two days of CAHSEE testing, we finished the final section of math. The California High School Exit Examination or CAHSEE, is a test required for any high school graduate by the state of California. I found that my math classes had prepared me for this exam, but if I have to pick an area I feel I did best in I would have to say the word problems. I find it easy to work through them and set them up. When I came across problems that I found more challenging I read through them first to understand what the problem was asking, then re-read it to find the important information and mostly used testing skills I have learned throughout the years. Throughout the math section I used a few habits of a mathematician including solve a simpler problem and be systematic; these both helped when solving problems that had multiple steps and be able to come up with an answer. I don’t think there was much I had trouble with. I would mostly like to improve on the math skills I have now and continue to learn more.
SAT/ACT
As a sophomore I don’t have long before I will be taking the SAT/ACT. When it gets to be closer I plan to take classes and use books and other informational tools to help me get the best score I can. I will also use flashcards to help me study. Then I plan to take it when I feel ready and retaking it until I am happy with the scores.
